Along Hoi Bun Road, old industrial buildings and new office towers are seen nestle tightly together, shoulder to shoulder. As a sandwiched building, the Rykadan Capital Tower’s front façade assumes all the importance in the design. Trying to be an antidote to the static and boring industrial buildings around, the design of this new tower seeks to introduce a sense of movement and vibrancy. The façade is designed to show in transition contrasting design elements (the use of different reflective glasses with horizontal and vertical articulations) and forms interlocking and juxtaposed with one another creating a sense of shifting movement. Also, the lower portion of the building is designed to encourage visually an ascending movement from podium parking and ground floor entrance, marked by folding glass plane and continuous run of vertical fins, all the way up to a top 12 floors of skewed geometry as a unique crowning touch of the development. The vertical fins establish a sense of continuity tying the podium with the tower and showcasing at the same time the ground entrance.
